NEW LAPTOP?
Set up once.
Use it at your events.
You’ll need Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit VirtualDJ, and an internet connection for your hosted content. Guests continue to use normal QR links.
Install the app
Sign in to GitHub, open the release’s Assets section and download Watt-Entertainment-Setup-0.2.1.exe. Run it on the laptop you use for VirtualDJ.
Add the VirtualDJ plugin
Find VirtualDJ’s active data folder using its Options folder shortcut. Fully close VirtualDJ. In the Watt app choose Install VirtualDJ plugin… and select Plugins64 → VideoEffect.
Choose your event
Keep the platform address as https://wattentertainment.co.uk, enter the event code, then choose Start display. Select a game or Booth & welcome. Matching host controls open on your laptop.
Enable the effect
Reopen VirtualDJ, open its video output and enable Watt Entertainment in master video effects. Keep the Watt app running during the event.
What changed in 0.2.1?
This installer fixes missing EXE and runtime DLL files, uses the correct Windows x64 runtime, and checks that required files were installed. Run it again to repair an incomplete installation.
Includes the wheel, Heads & Tails, digital bingo, shared photos, guestbook QR and race night launcher. Return to your previous booth scene with one click. Game settings stay with the event code; guestbook messages remain private.
This is an unsigned preview. Test it on each laptop before an event. Online games and Memories use their existing accounts and permissions. The audience feed is full-screen; transparent overlays are planned separately.
Need to return to music video?
Disable the Watt Entertainment effect in VirtualDJ. If the companion stops sending frames, the plugin returns to VirtualDJ’s normal video output after its connection expires.
